Update: Vortex Ajax Enhancements

We have begun updating Vortex with an improved user-interface design and functionality accomplished with the use of Ajax (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML). You may notice the Ajax indicator while using Vortex now.

This technology allows for some very exciting features that result in a quicker, more intuitive, and more “application-like” experience. Typically web applications are required to “post” information resulting in a page reload for every update.  With Ajax, information can be submitted behind the scenes and content can be updated dynamically – tricky!

The Photo Gallery Component now allows for drag-and-drop resorting of photos as well as quick-editing of captions and photo rotating without ever reloading the page.  Information is also organized in tabs, which are much simpler and efficient to use.  This ability to quickly create and modify information dynamically through Vortex is truly remarkable.
